How Team Roster Entries Work on the Sport:80 Platform

The Events Module on the Sport:80 Platform is built around 'Entry Stages', which appear to those registering for Events as separate tabs, with a bespoke naming convention for USAWP including numbers to help explain the order of completion in a visible manner.

These separate Entry Stages allow for significant flexibility in terms of Event configuration, each being able to behave independently, or linked to other Entry Stages, as it is with the sequential process of creating a Water Polo Roster.

Where the entity being entered is comprised of a number of Individuals, the 'Team' functionality is used, which is built using 2 Entry Stages:

1. The Team itself
2. The Team Members (i.e. Coaches or Athletes)

Requirements of the Team are to have the requisite number of Individuals, and for those Individuals to meet the parameters of the Team Entry.  For Coaches, this may be to just have a qualifying Membership Type, for Athletes, all Team Members must be eligible for the Discipline the Team is entering (be that Age-based, Grade-based or Age- and Grade-Based).

There is an interdependence between the Team Entry Stage and the Team Member Entry Stage, best explained as the Team Members needing the Team to be entered into a Discipline, and the Team needing to have eligible Team Members for that Discipline.  For this reason, the process to follow when completing a Team Entry is to:

• Add the Team to the Team Entry Stage
• Add the Team Members to the Team
• Confirm the Team Entry in the Team Entry Stage, which will change the status of the Entry to 'Complete'

The USAWP Domain is configured to allow the addition of Team Members before they meet the dependency requirements, so that Club Admins can add all Coaches and Athletes and complete the entry.  The Platform will display which Individuals are in an 'Ineligible' state as well as the reasons for them being ineligible, and the 'Manager' of the Entry (i.e. the User or Organization who processed the Entry) will be notified by e-mail of items of continued ineligibility.

Furthermore, amendments to Rosters can be made up to the closing deadline, or, in the case of Leagues, during the League season.
